Peter Weir's 1998 film "The Truman Show" is a phenomenal take on human emotion. The story follows a man named Truman Burbank in the manufactured Seaside, Florida. The beginning of the movie shows Truman in his daily life, going to work and coming home to his wife. However, after only a few days, Truman begins thinking about his life. He begins to wonder what's really going on, and eventually figures out his entire life was spent in a movie set. As he tries to escape, he delves into madness and eventually does manage to escape the set and into the real world.
I think the first time I saw this movie I was 9, maybe ten, and didn't understand any of the concepts the movie had. After watching it for a second time a few years later, and a third time just a week ago, I'm able to understand all that this movie has to offer. "The Truman Show" is a great movie that I really enjoyed, that I think Jim Carrey really manages to bring to life, as he does in all of his other movies. Overall, I'd give this movie an 8.5/10.
